Learning and Skills Council – Apprenticeships

Walworth Garden Farm

 

Small local charity that has been in operation since 1987, transforming a former derelict site in a heavily built up inner city area of Southwark into a well stocked farm and training centre.
 
  • Horticultural training for long term unemployed residents of Southwark
     
  • Working on local environmental projects such as improvements to the; Doddington Estate, Aylesbury Estate, Pasley Park, St George’s Gardens, Sexby Gardens, Dulwich Park and Southwark Park
     
  • Providing Environmental Education for local schools, wildlife clubs, and the School Orchard Project and planting fruit trees in school grounds across London
     
  • Providing Horticultural Therapy for people with learning disabilities, basic skills and mental health issues
     
  • Walworth Garden Services, a Social Enterprise employing former trainees to carry out garden maintenance jobs in Southwark
